* Calling the clerk at 360-417-2330. Voice mail is available 24 hours, seven days a week. Callers should leave their names, telephone numbers, parcel numbers and mailing addresses.

* E-mailing sbreitbach@co.clallam.wa.us.

* Downloading and printing the form from the county Web site, clallam.net. Click on “Taxes and Finances”‘ on the left side of the page, then on “Tax Appeal.” The page also has e-mail links and frequently asked questions.

Change of address?

Clallam County citizens can help the assessor’s and the treasurer’s offices by providing them with their current addresses.

Many residents think, because they changed their voter or vehicle registration, the information is shared automatically with other county departments.

Not so, said Assessor Pam Rushton and Treasurer Judith Scott.

The assessor’s office had 500 property re-evaluations returned to it this month because owners had moved.

With the treasurer preparing to mail out 39,000 tax notices on Feb. 14, the labor involved in correcting addresses quickly mounts, Scott said.

Residents can notify either the treasurer’s or the assessor’s office in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles, WA 98362, or e-mail Rushton or Scott through the county Web site, www.clallam.net.
