As power and communication lines were restored following Monday’s monster storm, damage estimates continued to be tallied on Wednesday.
A rough estimate for Clallam County is expected to be available late today, said Bob Martin, manager of the county’s emergency management department.
A damage estimate for the Clallam Public Utility District also is expected today.
Chief Engineer Dave Proebstel said Wednesday that a “wild guess” is that those costs will be $200,000.
A Jefferson County damage estimate Tuesday of about $1 million is rising, said Bob Hamlin, program manager for the county’s emergency management department.
“We’re still collecting data,” Hamlin said.
The latest estimate of damage to Jefferson County infrastructure rose to nearly $2 million, he said.
Estimated costs in Jefferson County include a washout and plugged culvert on Upper Hoh Road, $1,255,000; shoulder and stormwater damage on Teal Lake Road, $75,000; and an unmanned Brinnon fire station that was flooded and may not be worth salvaging, $500,000.
