PORT ANGELES — The latest vote count showed Clallam County Public Utility District commissioner Ted Simpson widening his lead slightly over challenger Cindy Kelly.
Bill Benedict, who won the race for sheriff, showed a larger lead over Sheriff Joe Martin after Tuesday’s count — one that grew by more than 1,000 votes.
And the tax measures for both the Port Angeles Aquatic Center and the Forks pool gained some votes in Tuesday’s count, but not enough to change the results announced the night of Nov. 7.
Election officials counted 4,284 more general election ballots on Tuesday.
An additional 4,111 late-arriving mail-in ballots still must be processed and counted.
The next vote count will be released by 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The election will be certified on Nov. 28.
