Fifteen more candidates filed for office in Clallam County on Tuesday, the second day of filing in the fall election cycle.
The election season heated up in Forks with City Councilwoman Nedra Reed challenging incumbent Mayor Phil Arbeiter for the position.
Arbeiter filed for office Monday.
As of Tuesday, nobody had filed for office for either of the two Forks City Council seats up for grabs during the Nov. 6 general election.
A total of 52 candidates have filed for offices so far. And nobody has filed in 24 of the elected positions open.
Filing continues through 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Clallam County Auditor’s Office in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
