PORT ANGELES — Shelley Burgett had “interim” removed from her general manager title for the Clallam County Public Utility District on Monday.
Burgett was serving as the district’s treasurer/controller in July when she was appointed interim boss, continuing to do both jobs.
On Monday, the Board of Commissioners officially designated her as general manager, a position that pays $115,000 annually.
She replaces Dennis Bickford, who retired as general manager after almost four years with the district.
“Shelley knows the PUD and the community,” said Commissioner Hugh Haffner.
“If someone within the organization is capable and willing to lead, my philosophy is to promote them first,” he said.
Commissioner Will Purser said: “Shelley’s 27 years with the PUD exemplify the professionalism and dedicated service of all Clallam PUD employees.”
