SEQUIM — The Clallam County Public Utility District will close the Sequim payment office at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 30.
The payment center at the Co-op Farm &Garden Center, 216 E. Washington St., was opened as a temporary solution for staff and operations to transition to the PUD’s main office in Carlsborg, according to spokesman Michael Howe.
Now the small payment center at the Co-op is no longer necessary, he said.
The outside payment drop box will remain at the Sequim Co-op location, though cash is not accepted there.
The PUD’s main office is located at 104 Hooker Road in Carlsborg.
That means that “customers in Sequim and surrounding areas are well served with one-stop shopping for all their payment, conservation and other needs,” Howe said.
“It’s also in an area where Sequim residents are accustomed to driving to, whether for the old Costco, Sunny Farms, Greywolf Elementary or other retail outlets in the area.”
For those customers not needing to visit the office in person, the PUD’s SmartHub payment option allows customers to view their bills, sign up for paperless billing and use their debit or credit card for autopay or to make one-time payments.
Customers also can pay by phone at 1-844-239-0074.
