PORT ANGELES — The third bimonthly reception for active and retired physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants will be hosted by the United Way Volunteers in Medicine Committee/Board in partnership with Olympic Medical Center on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
The reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St., in the third-floor Sun Room.
No reservation is needed.
Dr. Joe Knapp will give a brief presentation about a successful physician care network for the uninsured which he helped to build while living in Missoula, Mont.
The goals of these receptions are:
* To build interest in, and recruit volunteers for, the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic project.
* To identify individuals interested in developing a local physician care network.
The Volunteers in Medicine Committee/Board is a sub-group of United Way’s Access to Health Care Coalition.
The committee is working with Dr. Ed Hopfner who founded and continues to operate the PAARC Clinic in Port Angeles.
