PORT ANGELES — Clallam County will continue to lease office space at Forks City Hall for District Court 2 operations.
Commissioners approved a five-year agreement with the city Tuesday.
“This agreement reduces the rent to $30,000 a year — we’ll do our own janitorial work — and extends the term one year to Dec. 31, 2018,” County Administrator Jim Jones said.
“This was a cooperative work between the mayor’s office and our office, and it finally got done,” he added.
Under the new lease, the county will continue to have exclusive use of the space at 500 E. Division St. and five reserved parking spaces.
Forks will pay for electricity, garbage, water, sewer and maintenance, and the county will cover the telephone bill.
Clallam County will make quarterly payments of $7,500 to lease the space at City Hall.
“I appreciate the city of Forks and county government working together and maintaining our District Court,” Commissioner Mike Chapman said.
The county board also approved an $82,888 agreement with Reflections Counseling Services for substance-abuse treatment and mental health therapy for unfunded adults.
