Clallam County commissioner district boundaries will be changed to reflect population growth east of Port Angeles.
The redistricting is required to equalize the population in the three commissioner districts — east of Bagley Creek Road, between Bagley Creek Road and C Street in Port Angeles, and west of C Street.
The redistricting is a result of the 2000 Census, which showed District No. 1 surrounding Sequim is the most heavily populated with 24,928 residents, Districting Master Jeff Well said.
A special committee has been working on redrawing commissioner district boundaries to equalize populations in districts.
District No. 2 — essentially Port Angeles — has 18,567 residents, he said. District No. 3 west of Port Angeles has 21,030.
The Census determined 64,525 people live in Clallam County.
