PORT ANGELES — A county undersheriff, a retired police chief from California and a candidate in last year’s election are the three finalists to Clallam County’s next sheriff.
The three are Joe Martin, undersheriff for the past 13 years during Sheriff Joe Hawe’s administration; Richard Sill, a retired California police chief who teaches criminal justice classes at Peninsula College; and Soeren Poulsen who received 44 percent of the votes last year when he challenged Hawe.
The three will be interviewed Monday by the county commissioners, who are expected to chose a new sheriff before the end of the month.
