NEAH BAY — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for leads in the disappearance of a Kitsap County man whose car was found on state Highway 112 near Neah Bay.

Sgt. Ed Anderson said the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for information that would help officials find Stanley K. Okumoto, 79.

Okumoto was reported missing Sept. 19. He had left his home at about 11 a.m. Sept. 18 to drive to a barbershop, though it was out of business, according to a press release.

The State Patrol issued a Silver Alert for Okumoto, an Asian American who was last seen wearing black shorts and a tan jacket with “Denali Park Alaska” embroidered on the left chest area. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has gray hair.

He was driving a Ford Escort that was found Sept. 19 near milepost 6 on Highway 112.

Two days of searches in the area were unsuccessful, Anderson said.

He said search dogs, helicopters and boats searching the area were unable to find “any sign of the man.”

The State Patrol flew over the area looking for heat signatures but found nothing, he said.

“Right now we have no further leads,” he said.

Okumoto has suffered strokes in the past and takes medications. He also walks with a cane.

Anderson is asking anyone with any information about Okumoto’s disappearance to call Peninsula Communications at 360-417-4798.
