CARLSBORG — State and county officials are working to limit the use of firearms in the Cassidy Creek area to shotguns.
The shotgun-only designation was the topic of a meeting last week in Sequim sponsored by the state Department of Natural Resources.
Residents in the area have complained recreational shooters and hunters with high-powered rifles are too close for comfort.
Because there is a need for a shooting area, state and county officials are working to establish a shooting park west of Joyce.
