A Beaver woman remained in serious condition Sunday following a head-on car crash late Friday night that killed two others on U.S. Highway 101 at Lake Sutherland.
Ellen McCoy, 42, was recovering Sunday from abdominal and head injuries and some bone fractures, a hospital spokeswoman said at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
McCoy was seriously injured when a vehicle driven by Daniel A. Bremnes, 46, of Neah Bay crossed the centerline, hitting a PennCo Transportation charter service vehicle, a 1993 Ford Taurus driven by James A. Engstrom, 66, of Sequim. Engstrom, who died at the scene along with Bremnes, was a part-time driver for PennCo.
