PORT ANGELES — Saying he has worked hard and made progress to improve Clallam County’s economy, its residents’ health and the environment, county Commissioner Steve Tharinger announced his re-election bid Tuesday.
Tharinger, 53, seeks his second four-year term as a Dungeness Democrat in county commissioner District 1.
“I enjoy the job,” Tharinger said in an interview.
“It’s a lot of work, but I enjoy working with people and solving problems.”
His announcement comes the same day his lone challenger, Sequim Republican Sue Forde, spoke to the Port Angeles Business Association in her first campaign appearance since she announced her candidacy in late April.
