Two more general election bouts emerged Thursday as 18 candidates joined races during the fourth day of election filing at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Today is the last day for political hopefuls to throw their hats into the ring. Filing closes at 4:30 p.m. in the Clallam County Auditor’s Office at the courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
So far, only three primary election races will be on the Sept. 18 ballot — Olympic Memorial Hospital District commissioner District No. 3, Position No. 1; Fire District No. 3, commissioner District No. 1; and Port of Port Angeles commissioner District No. 1.
The top two vote-getters advance to the Nov. 6 general election.
A total of 87 candidates have filed for office in Clallam County. No candidates have filed in 10 races.
