PORT TOWNSEND — Astor Piazzolla’s “Three Tangos,” “Swing that Gavotte” from Johnny Jones and “Romanian Dances” by Bela Bartok are all on the program as Toot Sweet, a clarinet ensemble, appears in the next Candlelight Concert at Trinity United Methodist Church this Thursday.
Admission is a $10 suggested donation — though children will get in free — with doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. performance. Refreshments will flow after the music.
Toot Sweet is a quartet: Nancy Peterson, Lylburn Layer, John Adams and Vicky Blakesly, clarinetists who have played with orchestras across the world.
Now, they belong to local groups such as the Port Townsend Community Orchestra, Port Angeles Symphony and Sequim City Band, and rehearse as a clarinet ensemble each week at Peterson’s home in Port Ludlow.
For more information about Thursday’s concert, stop by Trinity United Methodist Church at 609 Taylor St. uptown or phone 360-774-1644.
