PORT ANGELES – They’re not clear on why their Port Angeles High School yearbook was called the Tum Tum.
But these classmates, on the eve of their 50-year reunion, know some other things for sure.
Cruising around with friends, walking over to one of the two downtown movie theaters, dancing the jitterbug – such are the ingredients of a sweet youth, said Sherry Curto, one of the Port Angeles High School’s Class of 1957 who’s still married to her high school sweetheart, Louie.
The Curtos are among several couples who dated more than 50 years ago, married – and stayed that way.
These couples – and others – are gathering in Port Angeles this weekend for their 50-year reunion.
Expected are 83 Roughriders from the class of ’57, plus spouses and friends.
While Sherry and Louie are coming all the way from Houston, Texas, some of their high school friends are just driving across town; they’ve either moved back to Port Angeles or never left.
