The U.S. Coast Guard conducted a mock rescue of a crew from a vessel called the “Spicy Burrito”‘ Thursday as part of a training exercise.
For more than an hour, Port Angeles Coast Guard personnel and “victims” struggled to communicate over radio airwaves in English and Spanish as the rescue unfolded — first with a passenger overboard, then with a fire engulfing the vessel.
Earlier Thursday, the Coast Guard conducted a training with water-borne fires off the Ediz Hook station.
