LAPUSH — The Coast Guard ended the voyage of a commercial tribal gill net skiff on the Quillayute River after finding multiple safety violations and no registration aboard the vessel.
A 25-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Quillayute River observed a 15-foot skiff with illegible state registration numbers, a Coast Guard spokesman said.
An inspection team then found it had none of the required safety gear for commercial vessels. Also, the master could not provide registration or tribal identification.
The Coast Guard in Seattle did not identify the operator.
