PORT ANGELES — The musical chairs continue with administrative positions in the Port Angeles School District.
Schools Superintendent Gary Cohn announced Wednesday that Choice Community School principal Cindy Crumb will assume the part-time role as the district’s career and technical education director.
Crumb, 50, will replace outgoing director Clyde Rasmussen, who is moving in June to Moses Lake to become the new dean of professional technical education at Big Bend Community College.
Cohn also announced the permanent appointment of two interim assistant principals at Roosevelt Middle School and Port Angeles High School.
Kate Wenzl replaced Crumb as assistant principal at Roosevelt Middle School in July 2004 when Crumb moved to Choice.
Wenzl, 31, who has been with the district nine years, said she breathed a sigh of relief when she got the call from Cohn.
Port Angeles High School assistant principal Mary Ann Unger has also played the waiting game since 2004.
Unger was given the temporary assignment to replace Scott Harker when he was appointed to the position of high school principal.
Unger, 55, said she’s happy to know the position is permanent, and that she’s looking forward to increasing the district’s high school graduation rate.
