PORT TOWNSEND — A cougar alert has been issued at Fort Worden State Park, warning visitors to use caution when camping or hiking, especially with small children.
The alert came after two cougar sightings last week.
On Feb. 13, a cougar was reported on the west side of the park north of the upper forest campground, between the Mule Barn and Battery Walk.
A cougar was seen at the lower beach campground the next day.
