CLALLAM BAY — Clallam County commissioners will present a proposed sewer rate increase to area residential and business customers during a 6:30 p.m. public hearing today at Clallam Bay High School.
If approved, the proposed $7 increase effective July 1 will be the county’s first sewer rate hike to the communities’ 300 customers since 1996.
The increase will bring the monthly fee to $32 for residential customers and $37 for commercial ratepayers.
“Our dilemma is we only have 300 users of the system, so we have to spread those costs,” said Joe Ciarlo, Clallam County utilities division manager.
