PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners soon will debut their own version of the “West Wing.”
The politically evocative name actually is just the formal term for that part of the Clallam County Courthouse lower level that is scheduled for remodeling.
“It’s sort of a glamorous name for the west end of the basement,” Craig Jacobs, county public works director, told commissioners Monday.
“West Wing sounds so much better.”
On Tuesday, the commissioners approved calling for bids on the project that will add five to six work spaces to the area and will enclose an employees’ lunchroom.
Construction is expected to start in early June and end in mid-July.
Commissioner Mike Doherty, D-Port Angeles, jokingly floated the idea of using the area for a reality-based TV series of the same name.
