PORT ANGELES — A crane toppled at the Port of Port Angeles Terminal 1 pier, leaving the operator seriously injured on Wednesday.
The man, who was training how to use the crane owned by Jim Maddix, jumped out when he saw it was about to fall, and the cab of the crane crushed the lower part of one of his legs, said Capt. James Mason of the Port Angeles Fire Department.
The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His name was not available on Wednesday.
