PORT ANGELES — Special “Stuff the Bus” collections of donated school supplies are planned today and Saturday.
The supplies will be distributed to Port Angeles School District families in need.
Today, donations can be taken between noon and 2 p.m. to the bus at KONP radio station at 721 E. First St.
On Saturday, they can be delivered between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to the bus in the parking lot at Walmart, 3411 E. Kolonels Way.
Donations also can be made at local banks and the district’s Central Services Building at 216 Fourth St.
The Back to School Event for Port Angeles families in need will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St.
School supplies will be provided free to students in kindergarten through 12th grades.
Other services
They also will get other services, including SmileMobile dental services.
Supporting the effort, in addition to the school district, are Lutheran Community Services NW, Serenity House, Port Angeles Food Bank, Sodexo Food Services, United Way of Clallam County, Rotary Club of Port Angeles, Kiwanis, Costco, North Olympic Library System, Burt and Ralene Walls, Dollar Tree, Operation Homefront, Soroptimist International of Port Angeles-Jet Set and the Port Angeles Education Foundation.
