Donations swell COVID-19 Relief Fund

Donations swell COVID-19 Relief Fund

Thank you for your generosity

You gave to honor health care workers who expose themselves every day to the unique coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

You gave to applaud those who work in essential professions and must put themselves in possible harm’s way from a virus no one knows how to cure.

You gave in memory of loved ones.

You gave.

Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) now has a fund of $64,114 to provide grants to help people in financial hardship because of COVID-19 precautions.

During a time when we all must focus on how to protect ourselves and our loved ones, you looked beyond yourselves to help your neighbors.

Whether you gave $50 or $5,000 you are evidence of the strength of compassion at a time when all are frightened of illness, of pennilessness, of not being able to provide for basic needs for our families.

Your compassion offers hope. It blunts some of that fear.

“It’s such a bright spot in the uncertainty that’s going on right now,” said Audrey Morford, executive coordinator for OlyCAP.

“It’s a privilege to get to witness that to counter the negativity that we are faced with every day right now.”

There is no way to thank you enough.

But at least we can let others know what you did.

“It is inspiring to see the many ways the community is coming forward to help during this pandemic,” said Terry Ward, Peninsula Daily News publisher.

“The generosity of our COVID-19 Relief Fund donors will make a difference for so many people affected financially across Clallam and Jefferson counties.”

Here is a list of the donations given to the COVID-19 Relief Fund during the first two weeks.
