PORT ANGELES – Those paint markings that have shown up on some of the downtown sidewalks don’t mean the start of a $3 million sidewalk and water main project is imminent.
But it is getting closer.
The third phase of the city’s sidewalk and water main project originally was expected to start in February, then was rescheduled until after Labor Day.
Now, the project could begin as early as August on Front Street west of Cherry Street at Copies Plus, 120 Oak St., said City Engineering Manager Steve Sperr.
But, it won’t move east into the downtown area until after Labor Day, he said.
