PORT ANGELES — Police are continuing their investigation into a drive-by shooting last weekend that sent bullets into two vehicles and two residences on a west-side street.
Officers have canvassed the neighborhood around the 1300 block of West 16th Street, where the shooting occurred, and are speaking with anyone who may know the victims, Port Angeles Police Detective Sgt. Eric Kovatch said Tuesday.
But they’ve turned up few clues so far in the Saturday night incident.
“We have no suspect description, no suspect vehicle, nothing,” Kovatch said.
What police do know is that multiple rounds were fired, striking a Dodge Ram pickup truck, a Ford F-150 pickup, and parts of two residences where people were home at the time.
“The (bullets) that we’ve recovered were lodged in fences and on the outside of the residences,” Kovatch said.
No bullets went through walls, nor did they come close to hitting people, he said.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, but Kovatch acknowledged that it could be drug-related.
“It’s innuendo at best right now, but that’s part of the leads that we’re following up on,” he said.
