PORT ANGELES — A driver escaped injury in a rollover wreck at 3000 West Edgewood Drive on Sunday morning.
Clallam County Fire District No. 2 responded to the wreck at about 7:45 a.m.
The driver was the only person in the Toyota pickup. It was traveling west on West Edgewood Drive when it slid on ice and went into a ditch on the south side of the roadway, according to a news release.
It then rolled before coming to rest on its side.
Clallam County Fire District No. 2 responded with a medic unit, one command vehicle and one engine. Two Clallam County Sheriff’s Office units, Medic 81 and Peninsula Towing also responded.
“Please remember that even though the roads are being treated and sanded, we are into the winter driving season,” said Assistant Fire Chief Mike DeRousie in the news release. “You must slow down.
“Take note that shady spots may still be slick and always beware of the possibility of black ice on the roadway.”
