DISCOVERY BAY — State troopers are investigating a single-truck crash on U.S. Highway 101 Friday afternoon.
A State Patrol report said a 1997 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on U.S. 101 south of Discovery Bay when it left to road and drove into a ditch, coming to rest at a culvert at Milepost 282.
The driver, identified as Arthur R. Hills, 84, of Bellingham, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A trooper at the scene said Hills was operating a truck with defective equipment. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the trooper reported.
