SEQUIM — Four New Dungeness Lighthouse Society members are stranded near the tip of Dungeness Spit by high winds and pounding surf that breached the spit in three places.
But the members — Devere and Billie Lindh of Auburn, Ann Simpson of Port Townsend and Marle Brandt of Sequim — say they are not worried about the water rushing across the United States’ longest spit as they hunker down in the lighthouse.
The house is located near the tip of the spit, a natural formation jutting into the Strait of Juan de Fuca north of Sequim.
