CARLSBORG — It was standing room only Monday morning as students at Greywolf Elementary School honored veterans from around the area with a ceremony and performances in their packed auditorium.
To World War II veteran Ted Cordua, it was nothing short of wonderful.
“I can’t even tell you — it brought tears to my eyes,” Cordua said Tuesday.
Cordua, Commander for the VFW Post 6787 in Carlsborg, joined fellow VFW members from his post and the Sequim 4760 post — as well as representatives from other organizations — at the ceremony.
Students presented skits and sang songs to demonstrate their gratitude for the many who have served their country.
The performances ranged from somber to inspirational — and even irreverent, though in a fun way.
