PORT TOWNSEND — The song “Peace, Salaam, Shalom” signifies the message of Emma’s Revolution, the musical duo headed for the Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship this coming Thursday.

Advance tickets to the pair’s 7:30 p.m. show at the fellowship at 2333 San Juan Ave., are $15; at the door they will be $18.

Describing themselves “like Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow with guitars,” musicians Pat Humphries and Sandy O. play more than 200 concerts a year, seeking to promote peace and justice, immigrants’ and human rights, the rights of women and the LGBT community, labor, and environmental health, all through music.

Their latest record, titled “Revolutions per Minute,” ranges from the soulful acoustic sound to full-on funk.

And that Emma in the duo’s name? Emma Goldman, the 20th century activist and writer who founded the journal Mother Earth.

The Washington, D.C.-based Emma’s Revolution has been a grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and of two Washington Area Music Association Fan Favorite awards, aka “Wammies,” in 2012 and 2013.

Their music has been featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” and on Pacifica’s “Democracy Now!”
