PORT TOWNSEND — Electrical power to the approximately 1,000 customers who lost it Sunday morning has been restored.
Jefferson County Public Utility District crews restored power by 2 p.m.
A failed regulator at a substation on Kearney Street knocked out power in Port Townsend, including to most downtown businesses, at about 10 a.m. Sunday, said Will O’Donnell, spokesperson for the PUD.
There are three lines of power for three-phase power transmission and one was lost when the regulator failed, he said.
Crews performed switching to restore power. The cause of the failure was unknown Sunday morning.
