More than 11,000 people are without electrical power in and around Sequim, Blyn and the Miller Peninsula.
The outage stems from a problem on the Bonneville Power Administration line, according to Nicole Clark, communications manager for the Clallam County Public Utility District, saying that a small explosion was heard from the Happy Valley substation.
PUD crews will reroute the electricity and expect to have power restored in an hour and a half, Clark said at about 8 p.m. Saturday.
The scattered outages seem to have begun at 7:25 p.m. Saturday, when more than 7,000 people lost power.
By 8 p.m., 11,128 people were without electricity, according to the PUD outage map.
The scattered outages are all west of the Clallam/Jefferson county line, with the majority east of Carlsborg.
