Elwha revegetation crews sow seeds this month in former lakes Mills, Aldwell

IT’S SPRING, AND the Elwha revegetation crew is busy this month, sowing about 1,400 pounds of native plant seeds in former lakes Mills and Aldwell, behind what were the two Elwha River dams.

This week, Leonie Goebel, a native of Munich, Germany who is spending a year volunteering at Olympic National Park, guest blogs about her experience — and takes you behind the scenes of revegetation work being done in the two drained reservoirs.
