PORT TOWNSEND — The state ferries system has canceled sailings between Port Townsend and Coupeville for the rest of the evening because of deteriorating weather conditions.
Washington State Ferries issued the notice at 6:37 p.m. tonight.
The notice canceled the 6:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. sailings of the Chetzemoka from Port Townsend and the 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. sailing from Whidbey Island.
The state ferries system said that updates will be posted on its website at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/ as they become available.
