CARLSBORG — Dolly is a duck.
She talks like a duck and walks like a duck — for the most part.
Dolly’s owner, Angela Jacobsen, 35, of Carlsborg has taught her duck how to walk on a leash.
“She loves to climb hills,” Jacobsen said.
“She loves to play queen of the hill.”
Dolly is definitely the queen of Jacobsen’s household, much to the chagrin of her 10-year-old dog, Mickey.
Jacobsen obtained Dolly for $6 from a duck pond owner in the Carlsborg area about three weeks ago.
Her two other ducks — Peep and Freddy — that she’d raised from ducklings were killed earlier this year by a raccoon.
Not wanting to take the chance of losing Dolly, Jacobsen has invested in special Spandex duck diapers so Dolly can live in the house, bought a travel kennel so Dolly can go on car trips and, of course, a leash and harness so Dolly can go for walks.
