The three Clallam County commissioners will hear from the county records work group during their weekly work session Monday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The work group is considering ways to revisit the county’s approach to records management and production. The group will seek guidance from commissioners on the next steps to be taken.
A quarterly report from the Economic Development Corp. is planned for 10 a.m. Monday.
Commissioners also will discuss a request to add a chapter in the county code pertaining to vacation rentals.
The work session also will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Other agenda items include:
â– A request from the Noxious Weed Control Board to provide a briefing regarding the outcome of a public informational workshop held on a proposed integrated roadside weed management plan.
■A Prosecuting Attorney’s Office request to meet with commissioners to discuss a juvenile court case involving a crime in which the county is the victim. Two juveniles have been charged with second-degree arson.
■A Prosecuting Attorney’s Office request to hire a new full-time employee support staff position into its main operations to backfill the vacancy that will result from the transfer of a current support staff member into the Family Support Office.
â– A call for bids for a Clallam County jail camera and recording installation.
â– Contract with the state Department of Natural Resources for the purchase of trees to be removed to allow construction of Segment 7 of the Olympic Discovery Trail west of Fairholme Hill.
â– A request from the Department of Community Development to hire another code enforcement officer.
â– A request from Commissioner Bill Peach to discuss Striped Peak Road.
On Tuesday, commissioners will consider:
â– An agreement with Aldergrove Construction Inc. for the remodel of level two of the county Third Street building.
â– Permanently closing Otter Way in Sequim. Staff says it has become an attractive area for illegal dumping.
â– Spending $780,000 for pavement repair and pavement marking at several county intersections.
Port Angeles city
Port Angeles City Council members will consider a proposal by Mayor Patrick Downie to stop fluoridation of the municipal water supply and to hold a Nov. 7 advisory vote when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Downie has proposed that City Council members pledge to abide by the results of the advisory ballot.
Council members also will discuss a CH2M Hill contract amendment for Elwha mitigation and a Teamsters contract, and will hold a public hearing on the electric utility 2016 resource plan.
The consent agenda includes an interlocal agreement with Olympic Medical Center, an Ediz Hook lease renewal, a pavement condition index service contract and a $923,237 expenditure report for July 9-22.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will consider a marina rates review when they meet Monday.
The meeting is at 9 a.m. at the port administrative building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Commissioners also will discuss a lease and a memorandum of understanding for the Composite Recycling Technology Center.
They will discuss second-quarter financial and strategic plan reports.
Joshua Berger, Gov. Jay Inslee’s maritime industry sector lead and director of economic development for the maritime sector, will give a presentation at 11:30 a.m.
Planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will consider proposed updates to the county critical area code when it meets Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse.
The update would concern existing agriculture near wetlands and aquatic areas.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider physicians agreements when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider several policies when it meets Monday.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Sequim Transit Center, at 190 W. Cedar St.
Proposed changes to the policies concerning student conduct expectations and reasonable sanctions as well as classroom management, discipline and corrective action would codify recommendations from the state Legislature’s Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee to address racial disproportionality in exclusionary discipline statewide, the agenda said.
Also considered will be changes to the policy regarding truancy.
Clallam PUD
The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting originally set for Monday has been canceled. The next meeting will be a work session Aug. 8.
