Clallam County commissioners will discuss a final response plan for Charter Review Commission recommendations at 9 a.m. Monday.
The work session will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.It can be viewed at www. clallam.net/features/ meetings.html.
The 2020 Clallam County Charter Review Commission forwarded five recommendations for changes or revisions to county operations and procedures not proposed for ballot measures.
They include recommendations for the addition of a county forester, housing initiatives, ranked-choice voting, 5G requirements and a third-party review of the Department of Community Development. The DCD recommendation will be discussed in a later meeting, according to an executive summary.
Other agenda items for the work session include:
• A discussion on a proposed joint Emergency Operations Center in west Port Angeles.
• An agreement with K&H Printers for printer/mailer services for the August primary election.
• An amended agreement with the state Department of Ecology for stormwater management and regulations outreach.
• An agreement with Aqua Terra Cultural Resource Consultants to develop and implement a cultural resources monitoring plan.
• A call for bids for the preliminary earthwork phase of the Lower Dungeness River floodplain restoration and levee road realignment project.
• An 11 a.m. discussion on the American Rescue Plan Act.
• A county spotlight video.
• A resolution appointing Jennifer Bond to the Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board.
• A monthly budget performance review.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Action items include a third round of “Keeping the Lights On” grants to eight local organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The proposed grants from the county’s hotel/motel tax fund would be for the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival, Dungeness River Audubon Center, Forks Old Fashioned 4th of July Committee, Feiro Marine Life Center, Lincoln Park BMX Association, Sequim Irrigation Festival, Forks Chamber of Commerce and two for the Forks Timber Museum.
Other agenda items for the Tuesday meeting include:
• An agreement with Olympic Community Action Programs for operation of the COVID-19 Social Distancing Center.
• A bid opening for a Clallam County Courthouse pressure wash and minor repair project.
• Notice that supplemental appropriations will be adopted June 29.
• A call for June 29 hearing for debatable budget emergencies.
• A 10:30 a.m. public hearing on an proposed code amendment for shoreline management.
• Recognizing lead right-of-way agent Joe Swordmaker for 35 years of service to Clallam County
• An Opportunity Fund grant for the Port Angeles Waterfront Center.
Board of Health
The Clallam County Board of Health will hear a COVID-19 update and a presentation on a homeless gaps and needs analysis Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hear a staff update on the district’s vegetation management plan for potential wildfires at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Sequim city
The Sequim City Council will discuss city manager recruitment it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.

The Peninsula Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will consider approving a 2022 budget and a grant from the city of Port Angeles at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
