EYE ON CLALLAM: County reviews proposed 2022 budget

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss the recommended 2022 budget in their weekly work session Monday/weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The work session also will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include:

• A grant application regarding the purchase of 10 new Tasers.

• An agreement with the state Department of Health.

• Agreements with the Port Angeles School District, the Quillayute Valley School District and the Sequim School District for transition program training.

• Scheduling of a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, about changes to the county zoning code regarding recreational vehicles, park models and use of property for camping.

• Discussion of public participation in, and the timeline for, updating the Shoreline Master Program to reflect the recently passed Ocean Resources Management Act.

• Consider pre-applying for a Washington State Broadband Office Infrastructure Acceleration Grant

• Scheduling of a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, to review the county’s draft of the new policy 959 — ADA Accommodation Policy.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

The Sequim City Council will conduct public hearings regarding the revised clearing and grading code and the revised shoreline master plan at 6 p.m. Monday.
