Clallam County commissioners will consider setting a Dec. 12 public hearing on the Shoreline Master Program update Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The county Planning Commission recommended approval of the draft Shoreline Master Program update, which has been in development for several years.
Other agenda items for the business meeting include:
• A contract and change order with Aldergrove Construction Inc. for Superior Court security improvements.
• A request for proposals for affordable housing and homeless housing and assistance funds.
Commissioners will hold their weekly work session at 9 a.m.
Scheduled discussion items include:
• A contract with the state of Department of Ecology for the continued operation of the Clallam Marine Resources Committee.
• A contract amendment with the Department of Health to add new funding for public health emergency planning and response; Women, Infants and Children travel; and foundation public health services.
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Social and Health Services to provide $101,167.
• A discussion of Washington State University’s appointment of Clallam County Extension Director Clea Rome as director of the Jefferson County Extension office.
Sequim City Council
The Sequim City Council will review proposed 2018 departmental budgets at a meeting that will begin at 5 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
The first matter on the agenda is a presentation on the proposed juvenile justice tax, which is on the Nov. 7 general election ballot.
The council also will discuss a contract with the Clallam County Economic Development Corp. and consider approving the city’s legislative agenda.
It will also will consider setting a public hearing on the council assuming the functions of the Sequim Transportation District.
Port Angeles lodging tax committee
The Port Angeles Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will review and make recommendations on applications submitted for lodging tax/tourism promotion funding and to set the 2018 lodging tax budget Thursday.
The meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will discuss a vacation rental draft ordinance when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet in City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
It also will discuss state Department of Fish and Wildlife elk population management, the Quillayute Airport rehabilitation project timeline and speed limit revision.
It may recess into executive session.
Peninsula College
Peninsula College trustees meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
They will meet in the Cornaby Center on the Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Quillayute Valley schools
The Quillayute Valley School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Clallam Conservation District members will hear updates on long-range planning and recruitment for a bookkeeper/administrative assistant Tuesday.

There will be no Clallam County Public Utility District meeting Monday.
The next meeting will be Oct. 16.
