The Port Angeles City Council will consider passing a resolution in support of the Olympic Discovery Trail in a virtual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

After much discussion on an alternate upland route between Ennis and Morse creeks renamed the Gales Addition Connector, the City Council on June 15 directed staff to draft a resolution in support of the Olympic Discovery Trail.
“The City of Port Angeles will prioritize the improvements, repairs and maintenance of the Waterfront Trail including necessary permitting applications, contracts and partnerships with Peninsula Trails Coalition, Clallam County and other neighboring jurisdictions,” the draft resolution states.
“The City will further continue the dedicated pursuit of grant and funding opportunities to fulfill these actions.”
Other items on the council agenda include:
• A U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer presentation.
• A discussion on American Rescue Plan Act funds.
• Approval of a climate resiliency plan.
• A discussion on a hybrid meeting approach for council meetings.
Clallam County
Clallam County commissioners will consider contract extensions with Washington State Council of County and City Employees Local 1619 and Teamsters at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Other action items include:
• A revised agreement with the state Department of Ecology for Lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project.
• A call for July 20 hearing for proposed revisions to consolidated fee schedule code.
• A resolution appointing Don Wenzl to the Behavioral Health Program Fund Advisory Board.
• A resolution appointing Paula Hunt to the Heritage Advisory Board.
• A resolution appointing Robert Knapp and Christia Skerbeck to the Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board.
• A resolution authorizing action on current use assessment applications.
• A public heating on a resolution for proposed vacation of a portion of Lincoln Avenue.
• A resolution authorizing sale of county tax title property.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The courthouse will be closed Monday for a federal holiday.
Discussion items for the work session include an agreement with Sequim School District for provision of transition program training and a request to increase one property and evidence manager position to full time.
The board will discuss the American Rescue Plan Act in a continued work session at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will hear an update on the revised strategic plan when they meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Station 34, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim
