EYE ON JEFFERSON: Affordable housing grant recommendations before county

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider recommendations for affordable housing and homeless housing grant funds during a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

The oversight board has recommended projects for funding and commissioners will consider them at 11 a.m.

At 10:30, the commissioners will conduct a hearing on third-quarter budget appropriation extensions.

The routine weekly update on COVID-19, usually set for 9:45 a.m., is canceled and will resume Oct. 12.

On the consent agenda area the setting of an Oct. 26 hearing on the proposed Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan and a change order for work on Center Road.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider issuing a $3.8 million limited tax general obligation and refunding bond and a $1.9 million water and sewer bond when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The general obligation bond is to repay the city’s general obligation fund note.

The sewer bond is to pay part of the cost of constructing water system Improvements connected with the Water Treatment Facility and Big Quil Diversion Dam.

Council members also will consider a contract amendment with The Chamber of Jefferson County for visitor center Operations and marketing services.

Joint schools meeting

The Port Townsend and Chimacum school boards will consider creating a superintendent search timeline during a special joint meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The two school boards also will consider focus group plans.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2021 budget when they meet at 5 p.m. Monday.

They will consider approving the budget later in the meeting.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will evaluate reorganization when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
