EYE ON JEFFERSON: County commissioners to hear examiner code

The three Jefferson County commissioners will continue deliberations with potential action on the hearing examiner code when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

The county prosecuting attorney’s office has proposed a draft ordinance for the hearing examiner code, hearing examiner rules of procedure and amendments to county code based on public comments and discussion from Oct. 7.

Commissioners also will consider the Planning Commission’s site-specific comprehensive plan amendment proposal.

Items on the consent agenda include phase one of an environmental site assessment and cultural resources study of county property located near the intersection of 27th Street and Discovery Road adjacent to Laurel Grove Cemetery.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will conduct a budget workshop in a special meeting Monday.

The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at district headquarters, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

Administrators and commissioners will review the proposed 2020 revenue and expense budget, long-range expense obligations, hiring options, staffing levels and plans to fill projected staffing vacancies.

The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.

Board Policy Review

The Port Townsend School Board Policy Review Committee will discuss graduation requirements when it meets at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The panel will meet in the superintendent’s office in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.

The panel also will consider policy for transgender students and policies on grading and progress reports.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council does not have a meeting Monday.

The next regular council business meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
