The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider awarding a bid for the construction and relocation of Undie Road.

The meeting will be at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

The bid is expected to be awarded to InterWest Construction Inc. of Burlington in the amount of $905,310 and administered by the Jefferson County Public Works Department.

The 0.8-mile stretch of Undie Road on the north bank of the Bogachiel River south of Forks was severely damaged during fall and winter storms and is now reduced to one barely navigable lane.

The current project is intended to create an alternate route that entails using 1.3 miles of existing state Department of Natural Resources road and another 0.9 miles of steep terrain construction.

The item is on the consent agenda and will not be addressed publicly unless requested by the staff or the public.

Additionally, the commissioners will conduct a public hearing to discuss appropriations and extensions at 10 a.m.

An executive session to discuss potential litigation is set for 11 a.m.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend Planning Commission will present recommendations to the City Council regarding the Growth Management Act on Monday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 540 Water St.

The council will not act on the recommendations but only discuss them. A public hearing is planned Aug. 1. Adoption is anticipated Sept. 6.

The Port Townsend City Council also will conduct a public hearing on the city’s six-year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) and consider authorizing City Manager David Timmons to submit it to the state.

The plan lists 33 projects, broken down by cost and indicating which are eligible for state and federal support.

The 2017 TIP is the same as the previous year except for a cost update for the Howard Street project, the addition of the Water Street overlay pavement preservation project and a proposed walkway on state Highway 20. Also, the visitor center was added as project and a 12th Street sidewalk as a priority.

The council also will consider a $30,000 agreement with Olympic Community Action Programs for an organizational assessment of affordable and workforce housing.

It will consider extending the duration of the cable television franchise with WaveDivision 1 LLC.

Other city committee meetings this week will be the City Council General Services & Special Projects Committee, which will meet from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the third-floor conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.

Jefferson Transit

The Jefferson Transit board will conduct a public hearing on its Transit Development Plan/Transportation Improvement Plan for 2016-21 when it meets Tuesday.

The board will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the transit facility at 63 Four Corners Road.

It will hear reports on ridership, operations and maintenance.

Public development authority

The Fort Worden Lifelong Learning Center Public Development Authority will discuss leases at a meeting Wednesday.

The meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Fort Worden Commons.

Quilcene schools

Quilcene School Board members are expected to discuss high school graduation requirements and a senior project update when they meet Wednesday.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. at 294715 U.S. Highway 101.

Although no agenda was posted by Saturday, at the board’s June meeting, it said it would discuss those items as well as a nutrition and fitness policy, a water audit review and a feasibility study on a Quilcene water system consolidation.
