Government meetings set for this week

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider funding recommendations from the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners also will discuss the Port of Port Townsend’s request for the county to vacate the medium risk waste facility currently located in the Boat Haven during a workshop at 1:30 p.m.

Items on the consent agenda include:

• A notice for a hearing on 2022 ad valorem tax levies rescheduled for 11:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6.

• A notice for a hearing on an interim ordinance on the establishment of temporary homeless facilities in unincorporated Jefferson County scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13.

• An extension of the deadline through summer 2022 for design work on the Port Hadlock sewer project.

• A grant agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for the Olympic Discovery Trail/Anderson Lake connection project.

• Final approval of the McLuen Short Plat.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider a water supply agreement with Port Townsend Paper Corp. when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting was originally set for Nov. 15 but was adjourned after storms hit the North Olympic Peninsula.

The council also will consider adopting the 2022 budget and a 1 percent tax levy increase.

It will conduct a public hearing related to the Reed Street land exchange; consider authorizing the purchase of a Taser certification bundle, which includes 16 Tasers, for $52,200; consider an update to the city’s comprehensive land use plan; and consider a contract with Financial Consulting Solutions Group, Inc. for $25,000 to update retail water rates.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will hear a Quilcene report during a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
