EYE ON JEFFERSON County to consider sixth policy on emergency response to pandemic

The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss a sixth temporary policy regarding emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke at 9:45 a.m., discuss the bid award for the county’s newspaper of record and discuss a letter of support for the Columbia Basin Fund at 1:30 p.m..

Items on the consent agenda include employment services with Skookum Contract Services, photos of the middle Hoh River flood plain, a grant for a temporary overflow shelter for homeless and a extension of the lease for office space in the Brinnon Community Center.

The commissioners will also conduct a retreat during a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The all-day meting will consider possible accomplishments over the next five to 10 years, a discussion of initiatives departments plan for 2021-22, key issues the county should focus on and the next steps to be taken.

Port Townsend city

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss economic development in Jefferson County during a workshop meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The commissioners will consider formally requesting designation as an associate development organization for the 2021-2023 biennium during a regular session at 1 p.m.
