The three Jefferson County commissioners are expected to appoint an interim treasurer and consider a draft schedule of fee hikes for parks and recreation programs and facilities when they meet Monday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Treasurer Judi Morris is retiring June 30. Commissioners will consider the appointment of Chief Deputy Treasurer Janet Holbrook, who would lead the office until the results of the Nov. 4 general election are finalized.
Commissioners will review a draft fee ordinance update and consider setting a public hearing on it for 10 a.m. July 7.
Fees would increase for campgrounds, Memorial Field and the H.J. Carroll Athletic Field, the Port Townsend Recreation Center, the Rotary Pavilion and park shelters.
Items on the consent agenda include:
â– Setting a schedule for 2015 budget adoption. A public hearing would be Dec. 1 and possibly continued, with adoption shortly thereafter.
â– An agreement to administer a $99,249 state Department of Commerce community development block grant for Olympic Community Action Programs.
â– An agreement for state administration of enhanced 9-1-1 excise taxes, which now include taxes on non-contract, prepaid cellphones.
â– Approval of a $72,900 contract with Seton Construction Inc. of Port Townsend to build a riprap stockpile along an eroded portion of Oil City Road in West Jefferson County. It will be funded by the county Road Emergency Repair Fund.
â– An agreement to retain Jefferson Land Trust to develop an acquisition stewardship plan for the Duckabush Wetlands Preserve for up to $7,022. Costs are to be paid by a state Recreation and Conservation Office grant.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will discuss winding up the city’s obligations to Jefferson County in regard to a 2010 tax measure when it meets Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
In 2010, voters approved a county sales tax increase of 0.03 percent for public safety, youth and senior services.
The city committed half of the new revenue it received — 40 percent, estimated at $212,000 — for support of the county-owned Port Townsend Recreation Center and Memorial Field, both of which are in Port Townsend.
That agreement with the county expires May 31, 2015.
The council Monday will consider a memorandum of agreement with the county winding up the agreement and stating expectations that the county will use about $175,000 for Memorial Field and community center gym roofs and structural reinforcing of the community center gym.
The council also will consider minor changes to free speech sidewalk rules adopted March 3, as well as an agreement with Jefferson Transit for management of a project to construct a new bus barn near Four Corners Road and state Highway 20.
An executive session to discuss real estate also is planned. No action will be taken.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss emergency repairs of the Point Hudson breakwater Monday.
The special meeting will be at 3 p.m. in the port commissioners’ office at 333 Benedict St.
Jefferson PUD
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss the agency’s medical emergency shutoff policy when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
Commissioners also will discuss information on the customer application, rotating locations of meetings, unpaid holidays for reasons of faith or conscience policy, a vegetation plan, an acceptable use plan for information technology and the wording of the deposit policy.
Jefferson Healthcare hospital
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners hear a 2013 financial audit report when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the hospital auditorium, 834 Sheridan St.
