The Port Townsend City Council will consider selling bonds to fund repairs of Mountain View Commons when it meets today.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The sale of bonds up to $36 million was authorized by voters Feb. 10.
The council is expected to approve the preparation of the necessary documents for support of the sale and combine it with refinancing debt.
The council also will address the preparation of a contract for the repair of the facility’s roof.
It will decide if it approves of the concept of erecting a maritime memorial on Water Street as proposed by the Port Townsend Kiwanis Club.
The council will consider approval of a collective bargaining agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for police employees that adds two higher categories of longevity pay, provides no cost-of-living allowance this year but provides a maximum of 4 percent in 2016 and 2017, and simplifies the salary scale among other adjustments.
It will consider authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with FCS Group for a water system wholesale rate analysis.
On the consent agenda is the nomination of Colin Coker as an outstanding young leader in Port Townsend so he can compete for an Association of Washington Cities community scholarship of $1,250.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Other city meetings, which will be in conference rooms at City Hall, 250 Madison St., are:
■Historic Preservation Committee — 3 p.m. Tuesday, first-floor conference room.
■Arts Commission — 3 p.m. Wednesday, first-floor conference room.
The panel also will conduct a special meeting at 11 a.m. Friday to discuss funding policy changes. That meeting will be in the third-floor conference room.
■Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board — 4:30 p.m. Thursday, first-floor conference room.
County commission
The three Jefferson County commissioners are expected to award a bid for the Safe Routes to Schools contract at a meeting today.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in chambers, 1820 Jefferson St.
Staff has recommended that C&J Excavating of Carlsborg be awarded a $190,112 contract for the project, which includes construction of pedestrian-friendly routes to the Chimacum School campus.
The project includes grading, sewer construction, surfacing, erosion management and traffic control.
The matter is on the consent agenda and will be passed without discussion unless a member of the public or a commissioner requests otherwise.
Also on the consent agenda are two measures for repairs of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
One would award a contract of no more than $10,000 to Queen City Sheet Metal and Roofing Inc. of Kent to fix the roof.
The other would allocate no more than $4,600 to Hicks Stone and Masonry to clean and repair the courthouse chimney and masonry.
Other items on the consent agenda include:
â– Awarding a contract for software for fleet management, public works and facilities management to Cascade Software Systems Inc. of Eugene, Ore. The contract over five years is anticipated to be $166,734.
â– Considering a $49,398 supplemental agreement for consultant services with Sargent Engineers Inc. of Olympia for culvert replacement on Upper Hoh Road. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
Jefferson PUD
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners are expected to award a bid for a transformer when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will hear an administrator’s report when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium, 834 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
Marine resources
The Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee will meet at the Port of Port Townsend Commissioners’ Building, 333 Benedict St. in Port Townsend, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The featured speaker is Roberta Davenport, aquatic reserves manager for the state Department of Natural Resources, on DNR’s Protection Island Aquatic Reserve and the proposed new Dabob Bay Aquatic Reserve.
